FAQ

  • Do you sell computers, peripherals, web hosting, etc.?
  • Yes!. When you become a client of The I.T. Answer, we will sell to you at the lowest price we can any computer hardware or peripherals. We believe in the Channel community. We work with both Ingram Micro, and Tech Data to help facilitate any type of device or solution you may need. By leveraging the Channel we gain experience and trust that the correct solution will be provided. However in some situations we will not be able to guarantee/provide the cheapest cost on merchandise.

    Do you support desktop applications, such as accounting, POS, CAD software, etc?

    We are your one stop shop for IT Services needs, If you have an application we are unaware of, we leverage your support contracts with the various custom/ 3rd party applications.  We may not always know the I.T. answer but we will find it. There are far too many applications on the market for us to have and carry ongoing knowledge. We are happy to facilitate a call to support for the software you are having trouble with and assist in that manner. As mentioned normally these calls require a support agreement with the vendor or a per incident charge.

  • If our computers get infected by a virus will you fix it?
  • Did you know that recent studies state that 80% of Antivirus products fail? Yes its true, however we take extreme precautions to avoid having viruses anywhere near your network. Gateway parameter defense is a must, just like the space shuttle having many fail safe mechanisms to ensure safe travel of our astronauts we instill similar standards to prevent the attach or outbreak before it hits the Anti-Virus product. In the unfortunate event that your network does become infected, we will work to get the infection cleared as quickly as possible.

  • Some of our employees are on the road, some are off-site, some work from home and some work in an overseas or out of state office. Will you support all of them?
  • Yes, as long as the computer we are working on is included in your managed service agreement. Emergencies always happen, when a situation comes up where a user is in a Taxi driving down Miracle mile in Chicago if they are connected with an air card we can help.

  • Can you help me design a database or custom program?
  • Although we don’t have in-house people to produce this, we are great at mapping out the ideas and finding someone that can build this application. We have seen great success often times helping the Customer better understand what they want or need. I hear several success stories about how we helped a customer over a hurtle.

  • Do you provide the software we need, such as backup, operating system or server software?
  • In some cases No. Operating systems are purchased for your use only. Other services like Backup is provided to you at your contracted rate, we also recommend in-house solutions for offsite backup and redundancy when needed.

  • Do you support Apple/Macs or Linux?
  • We do not officially support the Linux platform however we are resourceful in getting the answers we need. If your business has one or two Macs we can work with you, if you have an entire network of Macs then we are probably not a good fit.
